24.July.2010
It's hot in Philadelphia. I'm in the air-conditioned office that is also my bedroom, finishing up a demo. At the end of next month, the Sweetheart Parade is meeting; the first time the four of us will be in the same place since May. We'll talk of our long Summers, we'll eat BBQ, and we will discuss the next four+ months -- shows, records, songs -- and run through new material. It's going to be quietly wild. All of us have been, and will continue to be, very busy. But I'm excited to have the Parade be, at least, my priority once again.

SWEETHEART PARADE
Philadelphia's most distiguished Ameircan Gothic folk-blues act, the Parade consists of Johnny Bee,
Joshua Britton, Carl Cheeseman and Daniel Harvie, all of whom should not be trifled with.
"A beautiful patchwork of rootsy pedal steel and reverbed brush-drums provides a striking backdrop to Joshua Britton's wispy-voiced contemplations.
[Their album] evokes the bleakest atmospheres conjured by David Eugene Edwards in his outfits 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand." -- John Vettese, Philadelphia CityPaper
"[Crooked Crow] should be played during the ending credits of an episode of True Blood." -- Ben Garvey, bengarvey.com
"They’re entrenched in a deep emotive folk minimalism, drawing out noise through skilled orchestral
movements and building songs from the minimal to the epic and back." -- Andrew Fense, Fensepost.com
"[The Parade] create subdued grievances and eerie folk tunes reminiscent of fellow balladeers Murder By Death. " -- thedelimagazine.com
